So the season has come and gone and we have endured 9 months of NHL lockout. The season is less than 24hrs away and I've just submitted my starting lineup for this 48 game lockout shortened season. My last post was a year and a half ago that described a trade that I made for skilled, under-achieving Tuomo Ruutu.
After finishing the season playing in 72 games and scoring 18 goals for the Canes. It is with great sadness that I report that not only did he not make this seasons starting roster, he was also dropped off the mighty Inferno.
I did however have some good fortune at this years draft. My long time best friend Neil "Hemmish" Frazer surprised me with a text that was offering one Eric Staal. A player that has been owned by Hem for as long as I can remember. Neil has always wanted to get rid of him but could never pull the trigger on a deal. Staal is nortorious for the slow starts and it drove the Everton supporter mad. I'm happy to have him as he is one of the more prolific scorers and franchise players in the league and is still very young at only 28. I hope he can find a consistency that he could not find with Hemmish HC.
If Eric finds his new home one that he's not comfortable with. I can always ship his ass up to Fort Mac!

Good Luck to everyone this season
